cFocus Software seeks a Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist to join our program supporting the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This position is remote. This position requires the ability a Public Trust clearance.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation support in IT or cybersecurity environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise environments of similar scale, complexity, or criticality.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity, compliance, or engineering teams in documentation efforts.
- Required Certifications
- Role-appropriate certifications demonstrating competency in technical writing, IT, or cybersecurity.
- Examples include:
- CompTIA Security+ (preferred)
- Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (preferred for senior roles)
- Equivalent certifications demonstrating similar competency may be accepted.
Duties:- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, runbooks, system security plans (SSPs), policies, and procedures.
- Document cybersecurity processes across SOC, NOC, vulnerability management, and engineering teams.
- Create and maintain documentation supporting NIST RMF, FISMA, and federal compliance requirements.
- Support development of ATO packages, POA&Ms, and audit artifacts.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and leadership to gather technical information and translate it into clear documentation.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and version control of all documentation artifacts.
- Maintain document repositories and ensure accessibility and organization of materials.
- Support development of training materials and knowledge base content.
- Participate in audits and compliance reviews by providing required documentation.
- Continuously improve documentation standards, templates, and processes.
