Our South Florida Construction Practice is looking for an FDOT Resident Compliance Specialist on an hourly basis.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

 

As an FDOT Resident Compliance Specialist (RCS) monitors and enforces federal and state regulatory compliance on transportation construction and Local Agency Program (LAP) projects

 

  • Wage and Labor Compliance: Monitor prime contractors and subcontractors for compliance with predetermined wage rates, the Davis-Bacon Act, and the Copeland Act, including conducting labor interviews.
  • Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO): Oversee EEO and affirmative action requirements for all contractors and subcontractors on the project.
  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE): Track and evaluate DBE eligibility, utilization, and Commercially Useful Function (CUF) requirements.
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT): Manage and audit the OJT program, reviewing trainee personnel actions, time reports, and payroll records.
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date project compliance files, upload certified payroll records into systems like EDMS, and assist the District Contract Compliance Manager during reviews

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing as a Resident Compliance Specialist on a construction project OR minimum of 2 years of experience directly assisting an RCS in monitoring compliance on construction projects.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent standard is the baseline academic requirement.
  • Direct prior experience dealing with both State- and Federal-Aid funded infrastructure or highway construction projects.
  • Must have a verifiable baseline understanding of FDOT's DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) protocols, OJT (On-the-Job Training) programs, and federal EEO/AA (Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action) laws.

Compensation:$34.00 - $37.00 per/hour

salary dependent on experience and geographic location
