Position: Feature Assurance Engineer
Location: Dearborn, MI (100% Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a Feature Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of automotive industry experience to support feature validation, testing, and quality assurance for vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in feature validation planning, defect management, system testing, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Computer, Mechatronics, or related discipline)
• 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry
• Experience in feature validation, verification, and testing of automotive systems
• Hands-on experience with JIRA for defect tracking and issue management
• Experience creating and executing validation plans
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsI

Preferred Technical Skills

• Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing
• Vehicle-level validation and testing
• Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
• Automotive Cybersecurity validation
• CAN, CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS, Automotive Diagnostics
• Software and Hardware validation
• Defect triage and root cause analysis
• Feature sign-off and release validation
• Stress, negative, and edge-case testing
• Experience with technical documentation and validation reports

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute feature validation plans for automotive systems.
• Coordinate validation activities across engineering and testing teams.
• Define required software and hardware configurations for validation.
• Support functional, performance, safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory testing.
• Analyze test results and ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
• Track, prioritize, and resolve defects using JIRA.
• Lead issue triage and collaborate with engineering teams to drive resolutions.
• Prepare feature validation reports and support milestone sign-offs.
• Create and maintain JIRA dashboards, issue reports, and validation artifacts.
• Upload and maintain engineering evidence such as CAN logs, diagnostic traces, videos, and test reports.
• Develop negative and stress test scenarios to improve product robustness.
• Support continuous improvement of feature validation processes and test procedures.
• Assist in resolving field quality and customer-reported feature issues.
