Job Description:
This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

LOB Description:

As a Payments Technology Feature Lead, you will be accountable for providing technical leadership, direction, and oversight to a development team delivering strategic capabilities on the Global Payments platform.

This role ensures that technology solutions are designed, built, and delivered to meet both business outcomes and engineering standards, while enabling consistent, high-quality feature delivery across the team.

You will partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, Software Engineers and Quality Engineers to translate product intent into well-designed, scalable, and secure technical solutions, while guiding the team on delivery practices, engineering excellence, and continuous improvements.

  • May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
  • Attends Business discussions and workshops and gather requirements.
  • Analyzes requirements and transform to technical Flow, aligned with existing project framework and design.
  • Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
  • May have responsibility for a project and project budget.
  • May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application.
  • Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery
  • Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality
  • Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
  • Guides the team on work breakdown and execution
  • Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
  • Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team
  • Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)

Required Qualifications:

  •  8-10 Years relevant IT experience, preferably within a Financial domain
  • Good working experience and knowledge in JAVA/J2EE, Kafka, REST API, Spring framework, mulesoft, cucumbers framework, GIT etc.
  • Exposure to tools namely Jenkins, WinSCP XLR, CI-CD framework is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of XML, JSON and its usage within API and Microservice implementations at scale
  • Familiarity with Eclipse IDE, WebLogic Application server or JBoss
  • Strong experience in Integration Technologies – Mule ESB & IDE or equivalent, previous Middleware experiences
  • Hands-on working experience in Oracle - should be proficient in creating SQL scripts and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development and Unit Testing (Cucumber/Litmus, JUnit)
  • Able to handle code repositories using Bitbucket.
  • Able to contribute to 1. Automation 2. Causal analysis 3. Develop shared/common solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (both to a technical and non-technical audience)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Technical field
  • ​Knowledge and working experience in Agile Framework will be an added advantage.

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$106,500.00 - $173,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
