Compensation

$310,000 – $425,000

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an Associate or Counsel to join its Federal Energy Regulatory (Electric) practice in Washington, DC.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing utilities, independent power producers, transmission developers, energy traders, large-load customers, and infrastructure investors on sophisticated FERC regulatory, compliance, litigation, and transactional matters.

Ideal Background

3+ years of energy regulatory experience gained at a sophisticated law firm, FERC, or another government agency

• Experience representing investor-owned utilities, independent power producers, transmission developers, energy traders, large-load customers, infrastructure investors, or renewable energy companies

• Experience practicing before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)

• Experience advising clients regarding regulatory compliance, rate proceedings, tariff matters, transmission issues, market rules, and FERC filings

• Experience handling administrative litigation, contested proceedings, enforcement matters, and regulatory investigations before FERC

• Experience supporting the development, financing, acquisition, and disposition of energy and utility assets, including renewable energy, transmission, and data center projects

• Experience providing regulatory support for project finance, mergers & acquisitions, and other strategic transactions involving energy infrastructure

• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated regulatory matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
