## Job Summary
Basic Function
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.
## Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position.
- Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed.
- You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

## Job Duties
- Supervise stockroom activities and dispense supplies.
- Prepare all needed stock solutions and maintain adequate amounts.
- Maintain a current and running inventory of all materials.
- Assist in ordering yearly materials.
- Do general maintenance and clean up of all lab stations and other indicated areas.
- Assist in helping students in the use of specialized lab equipment and materials.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for all persons involved.
- Complete all other assignments properly and to the level required or indicated.
- Assist in training of new laboratory assistants.
- Be familiar with appropriate OSHA, MIOSHA, and other related regulations as they apply to academic labs.
- Be able to apply and use all appropriate MSDS publications in the chemistry lab/stockroom and update.
- Assist in making sure students work in the lab follow all appropriate safety regulations.
- Be able to use the appropriate source for developing methods for disposal of all types of chemicals.
