## Job Summary Basic Function The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.

## Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position.
  • Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed.
  • You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

## Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous training or experience in customer service.
  • Previous training or experience working in Microsoft Word and Excel.

## Months Per Year

  • Work Hours: Average 10-15 hours per week dependent upon your work study award.

  • Exercised: Works under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and Human Resource Specialist.

## Job Duties

  • Assist with clerical duties for Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and Presidents Office as assigned.
  • Operate telephone and answer and transfer calls.
  • Take messages and communicate to appropriate person.
  • Greet visitors and escort them to appropriate person.
  • Respond to visitors questions professionally and courteously.
  • Create databases, tables, queries, reports, and input data as assigned.
  • Electronic Filing / Scanning:
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files ensuring compliance with records retention schedule.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records including personnel issues, background checks, hiring information, etc.
  • Assist with background checks.
  • Assist with data entry into HRIS system.
  • Assist with candidate recruitment.
  • Assist with data entry descriptions and postings in the position management system.
  • Assist with work-study and tutor hiring.
  • Assist with mass mailings.
  • Performs light cleaning and maintain office supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
