The Position

The Federal Work Study Student Worker position is for current Ocean County College students who are eligible for the Federal Work Study program. Students must have been approved by the Financial Aid office for FWS before starting their position. If you are not sure if you are eligible, please email financialaid@ocean.edu to initiate an eligibility check.

The Fall 2026 rate for the FWS Student Worker position is $16.50/hr. The majority of positions listed are close to 20 hours per week, although some may be 10 or 15 hours per week depending on the position. 20hrs/wk is the maximum hours allowed for a position.

What You Will Do

Planetarium Box Office Worker (1 available- HOURS: MUST BE AVAILABLE TUES MORNINGS AND THURS DAYTIME):

The Planetarium is looking for a Box Office student worker to provide exceptional customer service by assisting with advance and day-of-event sales. The worker will use the CRM system sell theater tickets, gift shop merchandise, update patron information, and share information with patrons. They also assist front-house operations such as ushering; school trips, large groups, and parties; and other tasks as needed. Hours per week vary based on show schedule, approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Library Information Access (Lab Operations) Tech (1 available):

This position provides support to Access Services department of the library. This position performs specialized duties that assure safe and efficient lab operations; makes sure labs, storage areas and equipment are kept clean, orderly and functional. Familiarity with lab equipment and lab safety protocols preferred.

Disability Services Office Navigator (1 available):

This position will perform basic front office tasks, including greeting visitors to the office, answering phones, and checking mail. They will also assist office staff with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance and accessibility, help with tasks relating to the Office of Disability Services' social media accounts and website, and set up and attend campus events. The ideal candidate feels strongly about advocating for the equitable inclusion of accessibility.

1. Must be a current OCC student to be employed during the academic year

2. Must be approved by OCCs financial aid office for the Federal Work Study program.
