Description

The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Federal Work-Study Student Assistant supports the TRIO staff in providing academic support services to students. The student worker assists with office tasks, student engagement activities, and program events that help TRIO students succeed in college, graduate, and transfer to four-year institutions. This position also provides the student worker with valuable professional experience in communication, organization, and leadership.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists in welcoming all visitors to office
• Assists in filing, photocopying, and other office tasks, bulletin boards, etc.
• Assists in preparing for events/ trips, and help clean up after events/ trips to get back into working order; may be asked to attend events during work hours
• Assists students in the computer lab, Moodle, and other resources we offer in our office space.
• Assists in keeping the office a nice, clean, tidy, and, welcoming environment for our students to feel comfortable
• Answers phones and take messages for staff

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study through Financial Aid
• Must be a current student at Craven Community College

• Ability to maintain confidentiality
