Fathers’ UpLift is the first mental health and substance use treatment facility in the country dedicated to supporting fathers and families. Our mission is to help fathers become emotionally and physically stable for themselves and their children. Through therapy, peer coaching, group work, and reentry support, we strengthen father-child relationships and disrupt cycles of incarceration and generational trauma.

About the Clinical Services Team

Our clinical team provides compassionate, culturally responsive care focused on trauma, anger management, individual and group therapy, and child and family counseling. We are committed to helping fathers build healthier communication, manage conflict, and stay emotionally connected to their children and communities.

Position Overview

As a Clinician at Fathers’ UpLift, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team providing outpatient mental health services to individuals and families. You’ll conduct assessments, develop person-centered treatment plans, and provide direct therapy in both clinic and community settings. Your work will help fathers navigate life challenges, heal from trauma, and remain present in their children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect mental health services in the outpatient clinic and via community-based partnerships.

  • Conduct initial intakes, biopsychosocial assessments, and treatment planning.

  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy using trauma-informed approaches.

  • Provide crisis intervention and support for unscheduled or emergency cases.

  • Make appropriate clinical referrals, including for hospitalization or court- related matters.

  • Attend case conferences and contribute to care planning for complex cases.

  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and reports.

  • Collaborate with external agencies to coordinate care and advocate for client needs. Knowledge & Expertise

  • Community mental health treatment methods, including assessment, crisis response, and therapeutic modalities.

  • Trauma, substance use, family systems, and adult/child psychopathology.

  • Cultural factors impacting mental health treatment for BIPOC

    communities.

    Local and federal regulations related to mental health care, documentation, and client rights.Community resources spanning legal, housing, financial, medical, and educational services. Core Skills

    • Ability to assess mental health status and develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans.

    • Experience with group facilitation and family systems work.

    • Crisis de-escalation and intervention competency.

    • Excellent documentation and time management practices.

    • Strong interpersonal skills: collaborative and client centered.

    • Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

      Requirements for Fee-for-Service Clinicians

    • Flexible scheduling required.

    • Maintain a minimum caseload of 10 fathers and/or family members.

    • Must be licensed or license-eligible (LSW, LPC, etc.). Licensure required
