ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES: Teach, organize and supervise a fencing class and /or camp consisting of various age groups and abilities.Demonstrate proper techniques and safety procedures for the welfare of the program and its participants.Oversee use of facilities and keep records of class attendance. Supervise staff and volunteers. Coordinate lesson plans plan for the duration of the session.Complete written reports as needed and attend scheduled meetings when necessary.Responsible for supervision of inclusion companion(s) and/or interpreter, completion of evaluation reports, and verification of companion timecards. Other duties as assigned.SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Sufficient skill in a specific areaAbility to develop a teaching plan for a diversified group of people (ages/ability levels)Ability to demonstrate effective fencing skills and to communicate directions effectively.Knowledge of age and ability adaptations for activities to ensure equal participation and success. MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE: Instructor I: One year of experience instructing fencing and CPR and First Aid certified. Instructor II: Two years of experience instructing fencing and CPR and First Aid certified.Instructor III: 20 hours of instruction under a Moniteur, Prévôt, or Master that is a current USFCA member or Assistant Moniteur (or Aide Moniteur) or Moniteur level of the USFCA Training Certification and CPR and First Aid certified.Professional: Prévôt or Master (or Maître) level of the USFCA Training Certification and CPR and First Aid certified. EDUCATION: Possess CPR and First Aid certification. Possess a United States Fencing Coaches Association Certification is preferred.
