FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS MAINTENANCE WORKERDEPARTMENT: PARKS AND RECREATIONJOB CLASSIFICATION: SEASONAL PAY GRADE 2PAY GRADES LINK GENERAL PURPOSE:Working under the supervision of the Spanish Fork City Festival of Lights Lead Worker the Festival of Lights Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance duties in a park setting and performs related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Installs lights on trees which may involve ladders. Performs simple and minor repairs to lights and structures. Moves structures and plug in to electricity. Responds to assignments from the lead worker and supervisor. Must have a professional and positive attitude with good communication skills. Be productive while working alone and with others. Is expected to deal effectively and courteously with the public and fellow employees. Note: Job is performed outdoors in hot and cold weather which may include rain and snow. Work hours are flexible which may include evenings and weekends if needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of electrical string lights.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and the general public.Ability to communicate effectively orally.Ability to safely operate various maintenance and repair equipment and tools.Ability to work on a ladder.Ability to work in cold weather.Must have transportation to and from work and speak English.Must have good organizational, planning, and strong people skills.Must be a self-motivated, open minded problem solver that adapts readily to change. This is a hands-on position. MENTAL AND PHYSICAL APPLICATIONS:Surroundings involve contact with outdoors, dust, dirt, heat, cold, arid/dry, humidity, wetness, and ice. Requires working with and around other employees. Occasionally requires working alone. Health and Safety conditions include constantly dealing with soil, water and plant materials. Requires constant eye/hand coordination with occasional foot/eye/hand coordination. Occasionally requires vision strain, rapid speed work, and extreme muscular exertion, along with finger, hand/arm, and foot/leg dexterity. Mental applications include constant memory for details and attention to many items. Occasionally requires the estimation of the size, quality, and quantity of objects, along with the speed of moving objects.
