Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the underwriting of residential loans, reviewing credit documentation and underwriting files to FHA guidelines (DE approved) • Responsible for examining loan documentations for accuracy and completeness while working with loan originator or production staff to secure all required documents. • May be involved in one or several types of mortgage lending (conventional, government• backed, etc.) Underwriter may be required to work with more senior mortgage underwriters on loan exceptions, having the authority to withdraw and decline loans. Underwriter may also be required to respond directly to individual and investor audits. Critically examine credit, income and asset documents and review title policy and appraisals. Perform other job• related duties and special projects as required.

Skills and Competencies

• time Management skills and The Ability to prioritize workload based on daily production. - experience with underwriting to multiple lender guidelines and requirements and knowledge of Fannie Mae/DU and Freddie Mac/LP guidelines and AUS. - Strong knowledge of state and Federal laws pertaining to The mortgage banking industry: QM, ATR, RESPA, ECOA, AIR, etc. - excellent customer service skills with Strong attention to detail - Strong analytical skills required with a High degree of accuracy.
