    JOB TITLE: Fiber Plant Manager

    FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT

    REPORTS TO: Site Leader

    SUMMARY:

    Plans, directs and controls all activities of AJ Nonwovens Fiber Extrusion operation consisting of 50 M pounds of fiber extrusion capacity with approx. 70 associates with 3 production team leads and full technical and maintenance staff on-site. This operation supports fiber requirements for AJNW operations and direct outside sales. Looking for a hands-on process focused and involved leader.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Integrated with Senior Leadership team participating in overall Business Strategy development
    • Drives profitable growth
    • Planning and scheduling for fiber production
    • Drive IT improvements with current systems and processes
    • Dynamic leader who can act as change agent on our LEAN journey
    • Ensures Fiber operations are acting with synergy within total site
    • Develops Fiber metrics consistent with business performance objectives
    • Accountable and responsible for Safety, Quality and Productivity of Fiber Operations

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's Degree, Chemical Engineering a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and JD Edwards
    • Strong verbal/written communication skills and basic arithmetic
    • Extrusion experience highly desired
    • Ability to read and interpret complex documentation
    • Previous leadership experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
    • Extensive Leadership background is highly valued
    • Working in a union environment a plus

    The performance of this position may require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection

    Standard work hours will be 7am - 4pm. Nights and/or weekend coverage is probable.
