Job Description
QOS Fiber builds the fiber optic infrastructure that powers internet, communication, and modern connectivity. This position is ideal for individuals who want to work outdoors, learn a skilled trade, and be part of a high-performing construction crew.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role where employees work on active job sites performing fiber installation, cable placement, and construction support. Every day offers different locations, tasks, and challenges while contributing to real infrastructure projects.
Work Environment
This position is 100 percent outdoor work in changing environments and weather conditions. Employees work with a team using modern equipment and tools to complete fiber optic construction projects. The schedule is primarily weekdays with home time on weekends.
Responsibilities
Support fiber optic cable installation, placement, and outside plant construction activities. Perform physical labor and assist with cable pulling, blowing, placement, and basic troubleshooting. Learn fiber optic construction methods and assist with job site tasks as directed. Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials. Track material usage and communicate updates to supervisors. Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards. Participate in training and develop skills in fiber optic installation and telecommunications.
Training and Career Growth
No experience is required. QOS Fiber provides paid hands-on training to teach fiber optic construction, installation, and field operations. Employees can advance into higher-level roles such as Equipment Operator, Fiber Splicer, Lead Technician, and Foreman based on performance, reliability, and work ethic.
Requirements
Candidates must have a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor is required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work effectively on a team. Construction or utility experience is helpful but not required. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. A valid driver's license is required. CDL is preferred or willingness to obtain, with training and additional compensation available.

Schedule and Travel
Work is scheduled Monday through Thursday or Friday depending on project needs. Employees are home on weekends. Travel is primarily local and in-state with regional travel required based on project scope.
