We're hiring a Fiber Laser Operator to support a newly launched precision sheet metal operation featuring brand new equipment-and you'll be among the first operators to run it. Amada experience is strongly preferred, including operation with an Amada AMS 3015CL loader (no tower). You'll be responsible for safe operation, consistent cut quality, accurate reporting, and keeping jobs moving on schedule.
Location: Gainesville, GA
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (OT as needed)
Pay:$20.00-$26.00/hr (based on experience)
Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate an Amada CNC fiber laser to cut parts per prints/travelers
- Run the AMS 3015CL loader: load/unload material, monitor job flow, verify material thickness/type
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections (calipers, micrometers, tape, gauges)
- Maintain part counts, identification, and job traceability; record production, scrap, and downtime
- Monitor cut quality and troubleshoot common issues (dross, incomplete cuts, pierce problems, tip-ups)
- Perform daily/weekly machine-area maintenance and housekeeping (5S) per checklists
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
Requirements- 1+ years laser cutting experience (fiber laser preferred; CO considered)
- Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions
- Comfortable with measurement tools and basic inspection
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
Preferred- Hands-on Amada laser experience and/or Amada controls
- Experience with load/unload automation (AMS 3015CL or similar)
- Familiarity with high-mix job shop workflow and prioritizing multiple jobs
Physical / Environment- Standing/walking for long periods; frequent bending and material handling
- Lift up to 50 lbs (team lift/assist devices as needed)
- Manufacturing environment; PPE required (glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear)
