Selectek is partnering with a firm based in Tucker, GA to hire a Fiber Network Engineer on a long-term contract basis.

Expected Pay Range: $50- $70 per hour with potential permanent conversion.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00. Hybrid schedule is available!
Job Description
Performs fiber design functions requiring competencies in project planning, building, and maintaining the Family of Companies fiber optic infrastructure.
Independently develops, designs, evaluates, selects, and/or applies guidelines, procedures, and fiber design techniques and standards in an economically efficient and sound fiber designing manner.
Maintains and updates documentation for fiber optic networks, including inside and outside plants.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of fiber optic infrastructure construction, maintenance, and spatial planning.
Creating and documenting splice plans for construction projects and updating Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Collaborates with cross-functional teams including FOC and GSOC Network Engineering to create detailed designs, ensure optimal network performance, and contribute to the successful implementation of fiber optic projects.
In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation.
Required:
Education: Preferred - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems. Master's Degree in GIS
Experience: 5 years network design/GIS experience including experience working with fiber optic plant. Previous utility experience preferred. Previous experience in GIS, Autocad, or other design work preferred.
Equivalent Experience: Associates Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: UTC Level 1 & 2 - Fiber Optic Designer Certification or equivalent (strongly preferred).
Specialized Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organization, and time management skills, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by the work.
Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
