Fiber Splicer - Idaho

We are seeking an experienced Cable Splicer & Tester to join our growing telecom wireline team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in fiber optic and copper cable splicing, testing, and troubleshooting for large-scale deployments. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality network builds, customer satisfaction, and on-time project delivery across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cable splicing, termination, testing for both fiber optic and copper networks.
  • Conduct OTDR, power meter, light source, and other industry-standard tests to ensure cable integrity and quality.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair cable issues in both aerial and underground environments.
  • Read and interpret splicing diagrams, schematics, and work orders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of splicing records, test results, and project deliverables.
  • Follow safety standards and industry best practices while working in the field.
  • Interface with project managers and team leads to provide status updates and ensure customer deliverables are met.
  • Support multiple markets as needed with up to 75% travel.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Cable Splicer & Tester in the telecom wireline industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic and copper splicing techniques, testing equipment, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams in both aerial and underground construction environments.
  • Familiarity with industry safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license (company truck provided as needed).
  • Willingness to travel between multiple markets.
  • Bucket truck operation experience and CDL license preferred.
