About Our Client
This CT based law firm has been specialized in trusts and estates for over 100 years. This is an onsite position.
Job Description
Identify, collect, analyze, abstract, organize and maintain facts and documents, including wills and trust documents, in accordance with compliant legal practice and procedure
Identify, collect, analyze, abstract, organize and maintain financial statements and spreadsheets relating to client investments
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and personnel, inside and outside the firm to obtain and clarify information necessary to substantiate facts, identify documents and support legal actions.
Organize and maintain information, records and documents supporting legal actions.
Develop, implement and maintain tracking and accounting systems for client investments facilitating preparation of United States trust tax returns
Prepare federal Form 706, United States Estate (and Generation-Skipping Transfer) Tax Return and applicable state estate tax returns
Prepare federal Form 1041, United States Income Tax Return for Estates and Trusts and applicable state fiduciary income tax returns
Prepare United States Income Tax Returns for Partnerships and Non-Profit Organizations
Prepare Trust and Estate probate accountings
Prepare related filings and analysis for all accountings and returns
Execute Trust and Estate administration
Track deadlines to assure returns and accountings are filed timely or extended when applicable
The Successful Applicant
A successful Fiduciary Accountant should have:
5-10 years of experience as a fiduciary accountant or trust and estates paralegal
Familiarity with federal Form 1040, United States Individual Income Tax Return and state individual income tax returns and preparation.
Familiarity with federal Form 709, United States Gift (and Generation-Skipping Transfer) tax returns.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
