Field Application Engineer - Automation

We are recruiting a Field Application Engineer for a global leader in power electronics and industrial automation. This is an excellent opportunity for a sharp electrical engineer who wants to build expertise in servo systems, motion control, robotics, and customer-facing applications.

Prior professional servo experience is not required. The hiring manager will consider early-career engineers whose internships, co-ops, academic projects, or initial work experience demonstrate strong technical ability, hands-on problem-solving, and the capacity to learn quickly.

What You’ll Do

• Learn and support servo, motion-control, robotics, and power-electronics products

• Work with customers and sales teams to understand technical requirements and recommend solutions

• Troubleshoot application issues, test products, and support installation and validation

• Coordinate customer projects with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and global teams

• Develop technical documentation and provide product or application training

• Identify customer needs and help shape new application and product opportunities

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline

• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and an interest in industrial automation

• Relevant exposure through projects, laboratories, internships, co-ops, or professional experience

• Coursework or hands-on work involving power electronics, controls, robotics, motors, drives, embedded systems, or automation

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to explain technical information clearly and manage multiple priorities

• Willingness to travel approximately 20%, including occasional overnight and international travel

Experience with servo systems, motion control, industrial networks, OEMs, machine builders, or Mandarin Chinese is helpful but not required.
