The Field Application Engineer provides technical expertise and application support for power quality solutions and industrial electrical systems. This role supports regional sales efforts by identifying technical opportunities, delivering customer solutions, and serving as a subject matter expert on MTE products and applications. Reporting to the Application Engineering Manager, the position collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Applications, and Engineering teams to enhance lead generation, develop technical materials, and support solution-based selling within targeted market segments. The role offers remote work flexibility but requires proximity to a major airport and significant travel within the assigned region.
Key Responsibilities:

Develops technical knowledge of power quality solutions, electronic harmonics, and variable frequency drive applications.
Presents technical aspects of company products and solutions to sales channels, customers, and partners.
Assesses customer needs and supports qualification of power quality projects.
Provides input to Marketing and Engineering teams to support product roadmap development and market growth.
Provides technical support to customers including product selection, sizing, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Conducts product demonstrations, technical training sessions, and educational presentations for OEMs, end users, and stakeholders.
Performs harmonic calculations, creates technical specifications, and develops training materials.
Develops technical articles, application notes, and supporting documentation to promote products and services.
Collaborates with manufacturers, distributors, and end users on technical sales calls.
Coordinates customer site visits with Regional Sales Managers to support business opportunities.
Manages travel and operational expenses within the allocated budget.
Performs additional duties as required to support business objectives.
