Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Battery Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service background with mechanical knowledge and experience in field service, focusing on the maintenance and repair of battery systems. This role requires proficiency with various tools and equipment, as well as the ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation. Applicants must be at least 21 years old due to insurance requirements for operating company trucks.


Duties


  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on battery systems using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment.
  • Maintain and repair low voltage battery systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met.
  • Utilize hand tools effectively to carry out repairs and installations of battery components.
  • Read and interpret schematics to understand system configurations and electrical layouts.
  • Provide field service support, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues on-site.
  • Document all maintenance activities and repairs performed for record-keeping purposes.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role related to battery maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware is a plus, enabling effective troubleshooting of electronic components.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
