We are seeking a Field Construction Inspector for assignment in Washington, DC. The selected candidate will provide field inspection services, during nighttime operations, to ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, quality standards and applicable regulations.
Hours are Monday - Thursday, 7:30pm - 6:00am

Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of construction activities during night shift operations
- Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, contract documents, permits and applicable codes
- Monitor contractor workmanship, methods, materials and installation practices
- Inspect earthwork, paving, utility installations, structures, maintenance of traffic and related infrastructure components
- Identify and document deficiencies, non-conforming work and corrective actions
- Coordinate and witness field testing activities conducted by laboratories and specialty consultants
- Review material certifications, test reports and inspection records
- Maintain detailed daily inspection reports and quality documentation
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with OSHA requirements, project safety plans and site-specific safety procedures
- Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports using agency and client-approved software platforms
- Document quantities, contractor manpower, equipment utilization, weather conditions, project progress and observations
- Maintain photographic records of construction activities and project milestones
- Assist in preparation of punch lists, field memoranda and non-compliance documentation
- Coordinate closely with contractors, project managers, engineers, utility companies and client representatives
- Attend progress meetings, nightly coordination meetings and pre-construction briefings
- Provide timely updates regarding schedule impacts, quality concerns and construction conflicts
- Support resolution of field issues while maintaining contractual compliance
- Track progress against construction schedules and identify potential delays
- Review work zone setups and temporary traffic control devices
- Verify project records necessary for pay estimates and contract administration
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 10+ years of construction inspection experience on buildings, civil infrastructure or public works projects
- Demonstrated experience working independently during night shift construction operations
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, standards and contract documents
- Experience documenting field observations and preparing detailed inspection reports
