You connect OEM software, dive into the data, and pinpoint the issue—not by swapping parts, but by tracing the real root cause. By noon, you’re at a construction site troubleshooting a slow-lifting boom—hydraulics this time. Before the sun sets, you’ve documented each repair, advised two fleet managers on preventive steps, and helped a customer avoid costly downtime. That’s a day in the life on our founding team.

Build Something From the Ground Up

Transwest Mobile Truck Repair is launching a new market in Laredo, and this role is one of the first pieces in place. You won’t step into an existing structure—you’ll help design it. As our founding mobile technician in South Texas, you’ll operate independently, set the tone for service quality, and be the person customers ask for by name.

What You’ll Take On

• Own a mobile territory across Laredo and the surrounding South Texas/border region, representing Transwest on the front lines
• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and electrical/multiplex systems
• Work on hydraulic systems across construction, industrial, and material handling equipment
• Handle brake, suspension, steering, cooling, fuel, DEF, emissions, and HVAC repairs
• Service heavy trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, forklifts, and off-road/construction equipment
• Use OEM/aftermarket tools like Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, Allison DOC, ServiceRanger, and JPRO to identify true causes
• Manage your own schedule, prioritize field calls, and communicate clear recommendations to fleet managers and site leaders
• Perform preventive maintenance and complete thorough documentation of diagnostics, repairs, and inspections
• Source parts efficiently and help establish the best practices that will define our Laredo operation

What You Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on diesel and/or heavy equipment repair experience (mobile/field experience preferred)
• Strong diagnostic capability across engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain components
• Confidence working independently with sound decision-making in the field
• Professional, customer-first communication skills and high personal accountability
• Standard hand tools appropriate for the role (you supply)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (company service truck provided)
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in indoor/outdoor environments

Preferred

• ASE certifications or OEM training (Cummins, Detroit, CAT, Allison, Freightliner, etc.)
• Experience with Shop diagnostic software: INSITE, CAT ET, Allison DOC, ServiceRanger, JPRO, or similar
• Lead/senior/primary field tech experience
• Welding/fabrication experience or CDL
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong advantage in this market
