Field Diesel Powertrain Service Specialist — Las Vegas, NV

About the Role

Picture your day: you roll out in Las Vegas, NV, geared up to keep contractors, municipalities, and fleet operators on the move. Your first stop is a job site where a loader won’t start—you methodically diagnose diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, consult service manuals, connect diagnostic tools, and get it back online. In the afternoon, you complete scheduled maintenance on a medium-duty truck, update service notes, communicate clearly with the customer, and head to the next call. Every day you’ll solve problems in the field and in the shop—safely, efficiently, and with pride.

What You’ll Handle

• Diagnostic and repair work on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems for heavy-duty, medium, and light-duty equipment
• Preventive maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
• Use of OEM and aftermarket diagnostic tools and service literature to pinpoint faults
• Customer communication and relationship-building on every visit
• Accurate documentation of all repairs, parts, and maintenance performed
• Consistent adherence to safety standards in the field and in the shop
• Collaboration with teammates to support efficient operations

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in diesel, heavy equipment, or automotive repair
• Solid understanding of engine, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting processes
• Personally owned professional tool set appropriate for the work
• Clear communication skills and a strong customer service mindset
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check
• Capable of lifting 50+ pounds and working indoors and outdoors

Preferred

• Associate’s degree or trade school certification in diesel or heavy equipment technology
• ASE certifications (any level) and/or EPA certifications
• Experience mentoring or training junior technicians
• Familiarity with multiple makes and models
