    Field Engineer III – Desktop & Infrastructure Support
    Groton/New London, Connecticut Area (Government Facility)  
    12-Month Contract | Potential for Extension or Permanent Hire

    We are seeking motivated and customer-focused Field Engineers to join a dynamic technical support team supporting a secure government environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with foundational IT experience, recent technology graduates, or desktop support professionals looking to expand their skills across hardware, software, networking, and enterprise systems.

    In this role, you will provide onsite support for desktops, laptops, printers, network devices, mobile devices, and server-related technologies while working alongside experienced technical teams in a mission-critical environment.

    What You'll Do

    - Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers
    - Provide hardware and software support for end users in a professional environment
    - Perform PC deployments, re-imaging, upgrades, and device replacements
    - Support printers, peripherals, network-connected devices, and low-end servers
    - Assist with enterprise storage maintenance, including disk replacement activities
    - Configure and deploy mobile devices including iOS and Android platforms
    - Perform installs, moves, adds, and changes (IMAC activities)
    - Test and certify hardware, software, and approved applications
    - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that cannot be solved remotely by the Service Desk
    - Document work performed and maintain accurate ticket updates within the ticketing system
    - Escalate complex issues when appropriate while ensuring excellent customer service
    - Maintain compliance with client service-level agreements (SLAs)

    What We're Looking For

    - 1–3 years of IT support, desktop support, or computer technician experience
    - Strong troubleshooting skills involving both hardware and software
    - Familiarity with Windows-based desktop and laptop environments
    - Experience with ticket management systems is a plus
    - Experience supporting mobile devices (iOS, Android, etc.) is preferred
    - Knowledge of software deployment, imaging, and operating system installations
    - Hardware repair and break/fix experience is highly desirable
    - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    - Professional communication and customer service skills
    - Ability to work independently while following established procedures and support processes

    Preferred Qualifications

    Candidates with any of the following certifications are encouraged to apply:

    - CompTIA A+
    - CompTIA Security+
    - Apple Certifications
    - Dell Certifications
    - Other relevant desktop support or technical certifications

    Schedule

    This position operates on a unique split-shift schedule consisting of:

    - 20 hours during the weekday
    - 20 hours during the weekend

    Candidates must be comfortable working this schedule.

    Requirements

    - Must be a U.S. Citizen
    - Must be at least 18 years of age
    - Ability to pass any required screening processes for access to a government facility
    - Reliable transportation for occasional travel between nearby support locations if needed
