JOB DESCRIPTION
Important Assignment Details

• Extensive travel is required: approximately 250–350 miles per week, potentially more.
• Candidates are not paid for commuting to and from work. Mileage driven between work locations during the workday is reimbursed according to the standard mileage policy.

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Field/Computer Technician, you will be assigned service requests to repair laptops and desktops throughout the metro area and surrounding locations.

Assignments may include:

• Repairing laptops and desktop computers.
• Replacing hard drives, motherboards, keyboards, and other components.
• Performing whole-unit swaps.
• Repairing or replacing PC peripherals.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware-related issues.
• Closing service tickets in real time through the client’s call management system using a company-provided phone.
• Traveling extensively to customer locations throughout the assigned service area.

• Must have your own reliable vehicle and valid car insurance.
• Must have reliable transportation for extensive travel throughout the metro and surrounding areas.
• 1+ year of hands-on experience with laptop and desktop break/fix.
• Computer-building experience preferred.
• General knowledge of laptop/desktop hardware and software.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Ability to resolve basic/non-complex technical problems as directed.
• Must be able to complete required product training.
• Must be able to pass drug and background screening.
• Client and/or governmental clearance may be required.
• Police or criminal background verification clearance may be required.

• Extensive driving is a core requirement of this position.
• Candidates must be willing and able to drive 2–3 hours to provide services to customers when required.
• The position involves substantial administrative work using an iPhone, including real-time reporting of time and location and documenting activities in the ticketing system for every service call.
• Candidates must have a reliable computer and high-speed internet connection at home for work-related activities.
• Candidates must be willing to work beyond their scheduled shift when required, including short-notice requests to work past the normal end time. Overtime compensation will be provided as required by applicable law.
• Business-casual dress is required. Appropriate attire includes dress pants such as slacks or khakis, a tucked-in collared shirt, and dress shoes.
• Casual or athletic attire is not permitted, including jeans, hats, caps, T-shirts, tennis shoes, construction-type boots, untucked shirts, hoodies, or thermal sweatshirts.

• A+ certification is required by the client. Selected candidates who do not already have their A+ certification will have 90 days after their start date to become certified or may be subject to termination.
• Obtaining the required computer certification is mandatory for this position. The certification will be provided at no cost to the candidate and is completed after the interview/selection process using the candidate’s own computer at home.
• Candidates selected as final candidates will generally have approximately 3 business days from the date of selection to complete the required certification. Evidence of certification must be submitted before a job offer is extended.
• Because certification is a requirement for the position, reimbursement is not provided for certification classes or preparation courses.
