Role Description Were looking for a highly motivated Field Engineer to support our project teams in delivering high-end residential and commercial projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced field environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to grow into a future Project Manager or Superintendent.
Youll work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate field operations, manage project documentation, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality.
This is a full-time, on-site Field Engineer role located in Big Sky or Paradise Valley, MT.
Key Responsibilities Field & Project Coordination
Support daily jobsite operations alongside the Superintendent Assist with subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and site logistics Maintain and update 3-week lookahead schedules Coordinate material deliveries, storage, and site organization Track production rates, progress, and percent complete
Project Management Support
Manage project documentation in Procore/Autodesk (RFIs, submittals, drawings, daily logs, photos) Assist with RFI process and communication with architects/engineers Support budget tracking and cost reporting efforts Prepare meeting agendas, take notes, and distribute updates Draft weekly project updates for clients and design teams
Quality Control & Execution
Assist with layout, measurements, and verification of installed work Track and document construction progress (photos, scans, as-builts) Help ensure all work meets plans, specs, and quality standards Participate in punch list development and project closeout
Safety & Jobsite Oversight
Promote and enforce jobsite safety standards and OSHA compliance Assist with safety meetings, documentation, and reporting Monitor PPE, first aid kits, and site safety equipment Support incident reporting and coordination with Safety Director
Tools, Equipment & Field Support
Manage equipment inventory, maintenance, and tracking Operate equipment (forklifts, lifts, skid steers) as certified Assist with hands-on carpentry tasks when needed Support site setup (dumpsters, temporary facilities, etc.)
Project Closeout
Assist with punch list management and subcontractor follow-up Coordinate collection of warranties, as-builts, and closeout documents Support development of owner manuals and turnover packages Verify functionality of systems, appliances, and finishes prior to handoff

Technical Skills
Blueprint reading and construction knowledge (start-to-finish understanding) Proficiency in AutoDesk, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Familiarity with scheduling and construction documentation Strong construction math skills
Preferred Certifications
OSHA 30 CPR/First Aid Equipment operation certifications
Physical Requirements
Ability to work on active construction sites in all weather conditions Frequent walking, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working at heights Willingness to work overtime as needed
