Job OverviewWe are seeking a new Field Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Field Engineer/Assistant Project Manager, you will join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client's ever evolving project needs. This position is based in Chicago, IL , but will be mainly focused on work out in the field at our client's different project sites.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily construction activities and ensure compliance with the project's specifications, timeline and budget.Support project teams delivering critical infrastructure work for Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) through the Public Building Commission (PBC) .Provide essential administrative, tracking and coordination support to ensure the success of transportation projects throughout the city.Maintain detailed records of daily construction operations.Address and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process.Interact daily with the contractor to ensure the project is done on time and at budget.Required QualificationsAssociate's degree in engineering technology, construction management, urban planning or a related field (or equivalent experience).1–3 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, transportation or administrative coordination.Familiarity with public infrastructure or municipal projects; CDOT centric project experience would be ideal.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Team player mindset with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong attention to detail, time management skills and great organizational skills.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.Familiarity with City of Chicago departments and permitting processes.Experience working in a consultant or government agency environment.Experience using project management or document control systems.Interest in long‑term career development in project management or transportation infrastructure.BenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision Plans.401K, Paid Maternity Leave, Competitive PTO.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and more.Sponsorship and relocation are not available for this opportunity.Ardmore Roderick is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
