The Medusa System of Systems is the U.S. Air Force's solution for defense against small unmanned aerial systems (s-UAS) utilizing a government-owned Medusa Command and Control (Medusa C2), which allows for a plug-and-play selection of Passive and Active Sensors, Electronic and Kinetic Weapon Systems, as well as the insertion of a variety of Fusion, Association, Threat and Combat ID Algorithms. The Medusa C2 supports fixed base, portable, mounted and handheld operations. The Medusa Team supports the United States Air Force C-sUAS programs worldwide.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot program-of-record software applications, integrated radios, and hardware components.
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair to the Line-Replaceable Unit (LRU) level before escalating to higher-level maintenance.
  • Prepare systems for operation, including system software loading, operator training, and conducting operational checks.
  • Assist with packaging and Return Material Authorization processes for non-mission capable systems or equipment to higher-level maintenance facilities (e.g., SAIC AF C-sUAS Regional Support Center in Huntsville, Alabama).
  • Provide on-site and telephonic technical support for Airmen regarding system operations and maintenance.
  • Conduct training as needed to improve system performance and empower users.
  • Support the program Field Service Support Desk as required.
  • Conduct scheduled equipment inventories to ensure accountability and readiness.
  • Install software maintenance updates and/or hardware upgrades to maintain system performance.
  • Facilitate weekly site status meetings with Field Service Engineers (FSEs), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and customers to report on system performance and provide updates.
  • Analyze complex systems to identify faults, system failures, maintenance procedures, and part replacements at the LRU level. Assist senior-level technical specialists with deployments as needed.
  • Execute corrective maintenance actions to compress response times and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct parts replacements, system upgrades, and deployments using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
  • Adhere to contract KPIs.
  • Perform fault determination and fault isolation at the LRU level, executing Removal and Replacement (R&R) of failed components both onsite and at depot locations.
  • Monitor and analyze trends to improve system support and accessibility.
  • Successfully complete required certifications and training, including Medusa C-sUAS Administrator and Maintainer courses (minimum passing score of 70) and OEM training courses.
  • Assist in optimizing program-of-record software and hardware components for peak functionality.
  • Provide independent decision-making and expert recommendations to improve system performance during complex deployments.
