Field Engineer
Contract/ Contract to Hire
Detroit/MI
Top 5 Must-Have Skills:
Experience providing desktop support and IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) services.
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and IT infrastructure issues.
Ability to diagnose technical problems and deliver effective resolutions.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work onsite, travel between locations as needed, and safely use a ladder.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide operational support for desktop, network, and IT infrastructure in office, reservation center, and airport environments.
Perform Install, Move, Add, and Change (IMAC) activities for end-user devices and IT equipment.
Deliver onsite technical support during scheduled field visits and dispatch assignments.
Diagnose hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and implement effective solutions.
Produce accurate and timely service reports documenting completed work.
Maintain and document technical processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Collect and analyze system performance data to identify and resolve technical issues.
Manage work assignments efficiently while adhering to established schedules and service levels.
Accurately document solutions for complex technical issues.
Develop and document workaround procedures when standard solutions are not effective.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field engineers, technicians, and end users.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional and responsive support.
Safely use ladders and perform physical tasks required to install or service IT equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Experience supporting desktop hardware, software, and IT infrastructure.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience documenting technical issues and resolutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests.
Ability to lift equipment and safely use a ladder when required.
