This includes promptly addressing real-time mission anomalies and effectively troubleshooting emergent issues. Moreover, the candidate must demonstrate familiarity with local area networks and wide area networks, coupled with a knowledge of the transport and networking equipment integral to data transport.

Knowledge of structured cabling in support of data transmission equipment, such as fiber optics, twisted pair, and low loss RF cables with a knowledge of termination techniques is desired. It is necessary that the candidate understand how to operate mission support equipment such as RF spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, telemetry receivers, video distribution amplifiers, and video switches. While not required, a candidate with a developing understanding of Pan and Tilt antenna systems, RFoF, TMoIP, and expertise in installing and testing telemetry acquisition systems, GPS timing, and video solutions would be advantageous.

The candidate is expected to communicate effectively with the drafting department to create engineering drawings, and proficiency with drafting software such as Visio is desired. The candidate must be able to interpret and redline engineering drawings, as well as utilize schematics to install, alter, and repair equipment. The candidate will need to interface with engineering to make system proposals, evaluations, install, test and implement the use of new equipment. Perform quality assurance on telemetry systems as well as validation/verification of electronic systems. Produce operations, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting procedures for existing or new telemetry systems.
