Field Engineer- Long Island

Schimenti Construction is hiring a motivated Field Engineer to support a project in Mount Sinai, NY (Long Island) and assist the Superintendent in providing oversight for all processes and activities.  Field Engineers are an entry level role within our Field Operations team for candidates seeking to grow their knowledge of construction while working closely with a Superintendent at a specified job site.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the day-to-day responsibilities of a commercial construction project
• Ensure all subcontractors are checked in and working effectively/efficiently
• Support various administrative duties and ensure daily photos of project are logged in Procore system
• Daily focus on job site safety
• Maintenance of daily logs and updates of schedules 
• Take notes during meetings
• Maintain job site security/perimeter

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; trade school, or construction education preferred
• Must be able to efficiently multi-task
• Excellent communication and time management
• The ability to work with tools to perform various phases of construction work is a plus
• Must be comfortable reading commercial construction plans and specifications
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License
• 10 hour OSHA certificate

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Schimenti's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and specific performance awards. In addition, Schimenti provides a variety of comprehensive benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, and paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
