Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Newark AirTrain project site at Newark International Airport.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Field Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of construction experience to support field operations. The Field Engineer will assist with project planning, coordination, quality control, documentation, scheduling, and communication between field crews, subcontractors, and project management. Candidates with experience supporting structural steel fabrication and erection are strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Assist project management and field supervision with daily construction operations.

  • Coordinate and monitor work performed by subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform crews.

  • Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents for compliance.

  • Track project progress and assist with schedule updates.

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and support cost tracking efforts.

  • Prepare and maintain daily reports, production reports, and field documentation.

  • Coordinate inspections with owners, engineers, consultants, and regulatory agencies.

  • Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and material tracking logs.

  • Support quality control activities and ensure work complies with contract requirements.

  • Verify field quantities and assist with project surveying and layout activities.

  • Participate in project meetings and document meeting minutes and action items.

  • Assist with procurement and delivery coordination of materials and equipment.

  • Identify potential project issues and communicate them to project leadership.

  • Promote and support all company safety initiatives and project safety programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology or similar from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 3 years of construction experience on heavy civil, bridge, transportation, utility, or infrastructure projects.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Experience working for a civil infrastructure or heavy civil general contractor.

  • Experience supporting structural steel fabrication and erection operations is preferred.

  • Knowledge of AISC standards and structural steel construction practices.

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or BIM platforms.

  • Experience with bridge, transit, rail, airport, marine, or tunnel construction projects.

  • EIT certification or pursuit of PE license is preferred

  • Proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam, Primavera

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
