Relocation: Available for top candidates

About the Role

We are seeking a driven Field Engineer with experience in structural steel and large-scale civil construction projects to support complex infrastructure work across New York City.

In this role, you'll play a critical part in coordinating field operations, supporting project execution, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule performance on major public works projects—including bridges, transit systems, tunnels, and other large infrastructure builds.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to grow within a top-tier construction environment.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate daily with field crews to ensure labor, equipment, and materials are aligned with project schedules
  • Review and manage project documentation including drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Assist in developing work plans and project schedules
  • Track quantities, production, and costs to support accurate reporting and forecasting
  • Identify and proactively resolve potential schedule or resource conflicts
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and solutions to project leadership
  • Review and approve crew timecards and support payroll coordination
  • Maintain quality control standards throughout all phases of construction
  • Ensure compliance with permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and support ongoing safety initiatives
  • Provide field feedback to improve constructability and design
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractor work to ensure alignment with project goals

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience as a Field Engineer on heavy civil or infrastructure projects
  • Experience working with a large general contractor, preferably on high-value projects ($100M+)
  • Strong field presence with hands-on project coordination experience
  • Experience with structural steel construction
  • Familiarity with tools such as Procore (or similar), Bluebeam, and HCSS
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
  • Supervisory experience is a plus

Why Join Us

  • Work on high-profile infrastructure projects that shape major cities
  • Join a respected, industry-leading construction team
  • Gain exposure to complex, large-scale builds
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
  • Strong opportunities for career growth and advancement

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally based on project needs
