Job Description

Field Installation Supervisor

$35–$50/hour | Full-Time Seasonal | Immediate Start

Long Beach, CA | Potential Year-Round Opportunity

You've led field crews, managed demanding job sites, and kept projects moving when schedules got tight. Now bring that experience to The Christmas Light Guy Co., where you'll lead commercial holiday lighting and décor installations throughout Southern California.

We're looking for an experienced field leader who knows how to manage people, solve problems, and get projects completed safely and on time.

Holiday lighting experience is a plus. Proven crew leadership is essential.

Compensation & Opportunities

  • $35–$50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Full-time seasonal employment with significant hours available during peak installation season
  • Immediate start
  • Potential for continued or year-round employment for the right person
  • Opportunity to supervise large-scale commercial installations across Southern California

Who We Are

The Christmas Light Guy Co. has been creating professional holiday lighting and décor experiences since 1998.

Based in Long Beach, California, we specialize in large-scale commercial installations for cities, shopping centers, entertainment properties, and commercial developments.

Our projects include building lighting, large holiday trees, custom displays, decorative installations, and programmable RGB lighting.

We take pride in craftsmanship, safety, accountability, and delivering work that meets high professional standards.

About the Role

As our Field Installation Supervisor, you'll lead installation crews, organize daily field operations, and make sure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

You'll work closely with our established operations and project management teams while taking ownership of crew productivity, installation quality, and job-site execution.

This is a hands-on leadership position, not an entry-level crew lead role. We're looking for someone who can take a project scope, organize the crew and equipment, anticipate delays, and drive installations through completion. You'll be expected to make sound field decisions, maintain productivity, and bring solutions—not just problems—to the operations team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and supervise field crews: Assign responsibilities, organize manpower, delegate work, and maintain accountability across installation teams.
  • Manage daily field operations: Review project scopes, plans, photos, and installation instructions to keep work organized and on schedule.
  • Monitor productivity: Manage labor hours, track crew performance, and help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Solve installation challenges: Troubleshoot unexpected issues, adjust priorities, and make practical decisions in real time.
  • Maintain safety and quality: Enforce job-site safety procedures and ensure installations meet company workmanship and presentation standards.
  • Coordinate with operations: Communicate project progress, scheduling concerns, material needs, and field challenges to management.
  • Support hands-on installations: Work alongside crews when necessary to keep projects moving and ensure successful completion.

What We're Looking For

Leadership experience is essential. We're looking for someone who has already supervised field crews and understands what it takes to manage people, productivity, safety, and deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in field operations, ideally in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • 2+ years of direct crew supervisory experience, including assigning work, managing performance, and maintaining accountability.
  • Previous experience as a Foreman, Field Supervisor, Site Supervisor, Production Lead, Installation Manager, or experienced Crew Leader.

Relevant Industry Backgrounds

We welcome experienced field leaders from:

  • Construction and landscaping
  • Events, staging, and production installations
  • Electrical and low-voltage systems
  • Sign installation and commercial lighting
  • Solar, roofing, and tree services
  • Other deadline-driven field trades involving crew supervision and project execution

Who You Are

  • A confident, hands-on leader who sets the example and earns the respect of the crew.
  • Organized and decisive, with a strong understanding of productivity, labor hours, and deadlines.
  • Comfortable managing different personalities, giving clear direction, and addressing performance issues.
  • Calm under pressure and capable of making sound decisions when plans change.
  • Accountable for results and willing to take ownership instead of waiting for someone else to solve problems.
  • Committed to job-site safety, quality workmanship, and professional communication.
  • Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and around lifts.
  • Available for nights, extended shifts, and changing schedules during peak season.
  • Holds a valid driver's license and has reliable transportation.

Holiday lighting experience is preferred, not required. We can teach you our installation methods. What we need is someone who already knows how to lead people and manage field operations.

Why Join The Christmas Light Guy Co.?

We're hiring for the season, but our goal is to find a strong leader who could become a long-term part of our team.
