Overview:

Join a team where your work helps people move forward after loss. At Gallagher Bassett Technical Services (GBTS)you’ll play a key role in guiding individuals and businesses through complex claims with care, accuracy, and purpose. 

In this role, you’ll work across the New York City metro area, handling field investigations that make a real difference to outcomes. You’ll manage your own caseload, spend time in the field, and bring together facts that help clients move forward with confidence.

  • Overtime at 1.5x your hourly rate

How you'll make an impact:

In this role, you’ll lead field investigations that support insurance claims across different lines such as construction, workers’ compensation, and general liability. You’ll visit sites, gather statements, and collect evidence, helping build a clear picture of each case. 

Each day brings variety. You’ll manage your own caseload, plan your schedule, and work directly in the field. You’ll also turn your findings into clear reports, using photos, diagrams, and supporting data to explain what happened. Your work helps clients make informed decisions and supports fair outcomes. 

Along the way, you’ll stay on top of your time and expenses, complete required training, and continue building your knowledge as part of a team that values learning and development. 

About you:

Required:

 

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of field investigation experience in claims or “related” field experience and some knowledge of accepted insurance industry standards and practices.
  • Valid Drivers’ License and insured, registered, and well-maintained vehicle is required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.

 

About you

  • Experience carrying out field investigations in claims, construction, or a related area
  • Ability to explain findings clearly in written reports and conversations
  • Confidence working independently and managing your own schedule
  • Experience using tools like Outlook, Word, and Excel to manage work and reports
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings or weekends when needed

 

 

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with construction-related claims
  • A bachelor’s degree or associate degree in a related field
  • A valid Public Notary license
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification
  • Bilingual (Fluent Spanish and/or other languages)
