This entry-level opportunity provides hands-on field experience, exposure to advanced survey technology, and a strong foundation for long-term career growth in one of the industry's most in-demand professions.Why PsomasShared Success: An ownership culture that rewards long-term thinking and doing what's right.Retirement Benefits: Company-funded ESOP + 401(k) with immediate match.Career Growth: Clear pathways, coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.People-First Culture: Collaborative teams that invest in mentorship and employee success.Meaningful Work: Gain hands-on experience supporting projects that positively impact local communities across Arizona.What You'll DoAs our Field Land Surveyor, you'll support field survey operations while developing technical skills, learning industry best practices, and assisting experienced survey crews with daily project execution.Field Crew SupportAssist the Survey Party Chief by preparing, maintaining, and organizing survey equipment, supplies, and marking materials for daily field operations.Survey Monument Research & RecoveryHelp locate and recover existing property boundaries, control points, and survey monuments to support accurate project execution.Survey Equipment OperationLearn to utilize and operate a variety of survey instruments and equipment while gaining experience with industry-standard technologies.Staking Preparation & Field ActivitiesPrepare total stations, GPS bases, and additional equipment needed for daily staking, layout, and survey activities.Quality Control & Mathematical SupportPerform arithmetic and calculations alongside the Party Chief to help ensure quality control and survey accuracy.Survey Procedures & Technical DevelopmentLearn and apply proper surveying procedures while building foundational field knowledge and technical expertise.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED1-2 years of land surveying experience required, including construction surveying experienceFamiliarity with the use and operation of robotic total stationsValid Utah driver's license with a clean driving recordGeneral understanding of geometry and mathematical principlesAbility to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and through two-way communication devicesWillingness to travel throughout Utah as projects may require work in other cities or countiesAbility to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions for up to 12-hour shiftsMust be physically capable of performing demanding field work, including frequently lifting and carrying up to 50-pound steel survey plates and other equipment over uneven terrainPhysically capable of standing, kneeling, walking, climbing, digging, lifting, carrying, and performing strenuous field activities, including lifting up to 80 pounds over uneven terrainCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)Time Off: 3 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidaysCareer Development: Career pathing, ongoing training, and professional development opportunitiesTotal Rewards: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and qualifying family members, plus employee ownership through our ESOP and a 401(k) with immediate company match.Our Hiring ApproachOur recruiting team reviews every application personally and will keep candidates informed throughout the process.
