Natural Habitat Adventures is currently seeking experienced Field Staff to support our Ultimate Winter Yellowstone: Wolves & Wildlife Nature Journey and Winter Yellowstone & Grand Teton Photo Expedition itineraries starting in January 2027.
Our Field Staff plays an essential role in delivering seamless, safe and exceptional guest experiences. They are experienced customer service professionals who are committed to conservation and deeply passionate about the wild places we share with our guests. Working closely with Expedition Leaders and Field Operations Managers, they provide logistical coordination, hands-on support and proactive problem-solving in dynamic field environments.
Calm under pressure and highly organized, our Field Staff anticipate needs before they arise and resolve challenges with creativity and professionalism. Through attentive, personalized service, they ensure guests feel comfortable, cared for and fully supported-allowing travelers to relax and focus on connecting with nature, culture and conservation. Whether coordinating logistics, supporting field meals, managing gear, assisting with luggage or stepping in to help guests directly, they ensure every operational detail contributes to a smooth and meaningful journey. They engage travelers of all backgrounds with respect and inclusive communication, while prioritizing guest well-being, sustainability and safety. By upholding Leave No Trace principles and supporting responsible travel practices, they help protect the very places that inspire our journeys.

To support local communities and provide guests with authentic local insight and cultural perspective, we prioritize hiring Field Staff who are from the regions we travel to. Only candidates currently residing in Jackson, WY or Bozeman, MT will be considered.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing in-person logistical and operational support to Expedition Leaders and guests Anticipating and resolving operational challenges, including weather delays, schedule changes, transportation issues and other last-minute disruptions Assisting with transportation coordination, airport transfers and guest shuttles as needed Supporting luggage handling and delivery Confirming and adjusting lodging, meal and transportation reservations Coordinating and supporting field meals and signature guest experiences Purchasing, organizing and managing seasonal gear and supply inventory Tracking petty cash and expenses accurately Maintaining strong relationships with local partners and vendors Assisting with housing logistics, gear storage and end-of-season wrap-up Supporting safety procedures and helping enforce company protocols Communicating clearly, respectfully and professionally with guests, partners and team members at all times Providing general hands-on support wherever needed to ensure smooth daily operations
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior customer service experience required Experience supporting field operations and coordinating logistics preferred Professional experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry preferred Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound, independent decisions in dynamic field environments Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively Calm, flexible and solutions-oriented under pressure Exceptional communication skills and a strong guest-service mindset Demonstrated dependability and ability to work both independently and professionally as part of a collaborative team, supporting shared responsibilities related to guest experience, safety, and logistics High levels of integrity, maturity, adaptability, efficiency and enthusiasm Ability to work long hours in physically and mentally demanding settings Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required Reliable availability for the full season (early January through early March), including regularly spending nights away from home while leading trips Required certifications and qualifications (must be obtained before the start of the season):
Basic First Aid Certification (or higher level first aid training) CPR Certification Food Handler's Certification U.S. Driver's License (including a clean motor vehicle record for operating company vehicles) U.S. DOT Physical Leave No Trace Course
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS This is an independent contractor role compensated at a competitive daily rate, commensurate with experience, plus gratuities. Contractors are eligible for annual rate increases based on performance.
Nat Hab provides branded gear, meals and any required transportation or lodging (outside of Jackson/Bozeman) while on assignment. Nat Hab also provides a company vehicle for completing daily tasks.
