Job Title: Field Operations Technician II

Job Description: Delivers specialized services in fuel restoration, incident response, and petroleum support, addressing both routine work orders and urgent operational needs. Cultivates positive client relationships through on-site interaction and a commitment to superior customer service. Executes pre-mobilization site evaluations and inspections, expertly operates relevant machinery, and provides critical emergency response services throughout the designated region. Deploys to customer sites to deliver technical field services, including vacuum truck operations, water blasting, jetting, decontamination procedures, and rapid emergency response as per client requests.

What You'll Do:

  • 65%: Perform or assist, as needed, with fuel restoration, incident response, heavy industrial cleaning and/or product containment as needed. Customer Excellence: communicates effectively with customers on site in a professional, friendly, helpful manner. Ensure all Seneca employees follow site and customer policies and procedures.
  • 15%: Safety Management: Inspect, maintain and donning personal protective equipment. Ensure peers and subcontractors are protected and have the responsibility and authority to stop work being deemed unsafe. Equipment inspection, maintenance and operation: May operate large vehicles including vacuum trucks, semis and other heavy equipment. Inspects equipment before and after operation and documents deficiencies in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy. May be assigned responsibility for a single company vehicle which includes responsibilities for routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • 10%: May Transport HAZMAT as experience and qualifications increase: Transport hazardous materials and other various chemicals that may be presented to Seneca Companies for transport and be responsible for the DOT Laws applicable to such.
  • 5%: Mobile device-based administration and documentation: Utilize mobile devices to plan, track and document job data including vehicle maintenance and operation, work order progress, personnel status and working hours. Respond to a variety of communication methods such as email, text messages, phone calls and application alerts in an appropriate time frame. Completes safety training and documentation on time. These plans will be in conjunction with the branch managers and division heads.
  • 5%: Other duties as assigned.
  • Working Hazards: Works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, confined spaces, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
  • Physical/Mental: Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 0-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Successful candidates must obtain OSHA HAZWOPER 40 certification and a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or B with a Hazardous Waste Endorsement within 90 days of employment. Preference will be accorded to applicants already possessing a Class A or B CDL, related certifications, and/or OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Technical Abilities: Experience in managing both in-house and field sales personnel along with phone sales. Extensive experience as a sales/marketing manager in the industry. Has developed and executed tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong listening skills as well as strong negotiating skills and capacity. Highly organized and has very effective time management skills as well as a demonstrated leader among employees.
  • Autonomy/Direction: Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines from senior Technicians in the field to perform the functions of the job. Works under close supervision. Primary job functions periodically require exercising independent judgment. Must have the ability to travel overnight 50%. Must have the ability to be on-call 24-7 for emergency response on a rotational basis.
  • Tools and Equipment: Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operation as described. Knowledge and experience with computer programs (PowerApps, Outlook).
