Field Production Supervisor

JBa Land Management is seeking an experienced Field Production Supervisor to oversee daily landscape operations, field crews, scheduling, production, quality control and communication at assigned properties, including operations at DFW Airport.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands commercial landscape operations from the field up. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with crews while also managing schedules, people, reporting and client expectations.

The position requires a leader who can walk a property, recognize what needs to be done, organize the people and equipment required to do it, and make sure the work is completed correctly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily field operations.
• Manage and provide leadership to 20+ field employees.
• Confirm the areas, sections and services scheduled for completion each day.
• Assign crews, equipment and resources according to the production plan and property schedule.
• Maintain a visible supervisory presence on assigned properties.
• Monitor crew progress throughout the workday.
• Make adjustments to staffing, equipment and schedules when conditions change.
• Inspect completed work for quality and contract compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and make sure corrections are completed promptly.
• Maintain production schedules and help ensure labor is used efficiently.
• Coordinate landscape maintenance, enhancements and other assigned services.
• Communicate daily priorities clearly to crew leaders and employees.
• Maintain communication with JBa management regarding production, staffing, equipment, property conditions and potential problems.
• Communicate professionally with designated client and DFW representatives when required.
• Maintain accurate field reports, production records and other required documentation.
• Enforce JBa safety standards and job-site procedures.
• Make sure employees have the equipment and materials required to complete scheduled work.
• Help identify recurring operational problems and recommend solutions.
• Hold crews accountable for attendance, performance, productivity and quality.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of landscape, grounds management or related field experience.
• Must have meaningful experience working directly with field crews.
• Previous supervisory or management experience involving 20+ employees.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Strong computer skills required.
• Ability to use email, scheduling systems, digital reports and other business software.
• Strong understanding of commercial landscape maintenance and field production.
• Ability to organize multiple crews, schedules and work areas simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with employees, management and clients.
• Clean driving record.
• Must be able to meet required background screening and drug-testing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience owning or managing a service or landscape business is a plus.
• Irrigation license is preferred but not required.
• Chemical applicator license is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with large commercial properties, airports, municipalities, corporate campuses or similarly complex properties is preferred.
• Experience improving field productivity, crew accountability and operational systems is a plus.

Leadership Expectations

This position requires more than directing crews.

The Field Production Supervisor is expected to understand what is happening on the property, recognize problems before they become larger issues and take responsibility for getting them resolved.

The right person should be able to give clear direction, hold employees accountable, make sound decisions in the field and communicate problems to management without waiting until the end of the day.
