Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Project Controls Scheduler to support project planning, scheduling, and performance tracking activities. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, analyzing critical paths and project risks, and supporting earned value management processes. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of EPC project execution, scheduling methodologies, and cross-functional project dependencies.
Job Description
- Develop, maintain, and update Level III project schedules.
- Lead schedule development activities, including fragnet identification and resource leveling.
- Perform critical path analysis and monitor schedule float to identify potential project impacts.
- Prepare and maintain earned value management (EVM) reports to track project performance.
- Support project controls activities in accordance with established procedures and project requirements.
- Analyze project schedules and dependencies to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and other project teams to ensure schedule alignment.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of complex project controls assignments.
- Develop project risk analysis skills and contribute to schedule risk assessments.
- Gain and apply knowledge of cost control processes to support overall project performance management.
- Ensure project schedules accurately reflect current project status and forecasted activities.
- Provide schedule reporting and progress updates to project stakeholders and management.
Skills Required
- 3-6 years experience of relevant cost control or planning/scheduling experience if no bachelor's degree.
- Mastery of Primavera P6 is essential
- Critical Path Method (CPM)Analysis: Deep understanding of network diagrams, leads, lags, and identifying the exact sequence of activities that drive the project end date
- Earned Value Management (EVM): The ability to link schedule progress with cost data to measure the actual performance of the project against its baseline
- Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): Skill in breaking large, complex projects down into smaller, manageable, and trackable components
- Risk Analysis & Forecasting: Identifying potential schedule delays and evaluating both threats and opportunities to project
- Change Management: The ability to trace, document, and quantify the impact of changes in project scope on the overall timeline.
- Resource Allocation: Strategically assigning labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum efficiency without causing bottlenecks
Education/Training/Certifications
- 4-year Bachelor's degree with 3 or more years of relevant Cost Control of Planning & Scheduling experience OR no 4-year Bachelor's degree required with 6 years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office.
