Job Summary:

As a Project Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced construction and project management professionals on a variety of construction and industrial services projects. In this role, you'll support project planning, coordination, and daily operations while gaining valuable hands-on experience in both the field and office.

This opportunity is ideal for someone early in their construction engineering career who is eager to learn and build a strong foundation in civil construction and project delivery. Some of your work will take place in the field, including walking job sites, climbing, and lifting as needed. You'll manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while staying organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry will be key to your success. Due to the nature of certain projects and federal contract requirements, staff will need to be on must be U.S. citizens and able to meet all applicable project eligibility requirements. Eligibility requirements may vary depending on project assignment and client specifications.

You'll work under the guidance of Project Managers and senior engineering staff to develop technical knowledge, support project execution, and ensure adherence to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and operational expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and tracking of project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule
  • Support field operations through site visits, data collection, and progress tracking
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering documents, drawings, and project reports
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support project execution
  • Monitor construction activities to help ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Maintain project documentation, including logs, reports, and tracking tools
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
  • Learn and apply AIS Infrastructure processes, systems, and safety protocols

Requirements and Education:

  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical and field experience
  • Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Ability to learn project management fundamentals

Preferred Requirements and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or nearing completion)
  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, engineering, or related internship experience
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
