Project Overview:
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team of field purchasing personnel in the performance and completion of project procurement commitments through bidding, evaluation, and award. You will supervise preparation of bidder lists, review bids for accuracy, and recommend bid selections. Your oversight will ensure commitments are accurately represented and that supplier performance meets requirements. #LI-RG1
Major Responsibilities:
Supervises assigned personnel on a mega-project in the orderly performance and completion of project procurement commitments through the several steps of bidding, evaluation, and award, in accordance with established policies and Supply Chain Governance
Reviews commercial bid tabulations for accuracy, bidder recommendation, completeness, and approves selection of suppliers within delegated approval authority
Ensures all commitments made by subordinate personnel are accurately presented and have proper global business unit approval and signing authorities, as contained in the Procurement Procedures
Reviews and recommends bid selections that require higher Procurement approval authority
Executes commitments within delegated signing authority
Reviews prime contract between customer and Bechtel and makes recommendations to designated manager to ensure appropriate provisions are reflected in the general, special, and pricing conditions of the master Purchasing pro-forma documents
Develops, monitors, and maintains project master Purchasing pro-forma documents, including legal comments to commercial terms and conditions
Directs negotiations and prepares proposed negotiating plan in the commitment and resolution of commercial conditions of purchases when such action is agreed as necessary by the designated manager
Assures that project purchasing of equipment and materials is consistent with Bechtel Directives, Management Instructions, and Supply Chain Governance
Coordinates Purchasing operations in both the project's control office and support offices to assure compliance with project requirements
