    Description

    Day in the life

You start your day by checking your service van—tools calibrated, spare parts stocked, and digital work orders synced on your handheld. The first stop is a retail partner where an In‑Store Bagger (ISB) must be producing to meet peak demand. You diagnose production gaps, reference schematics, and fine‑tune low‑voltage controls so the ice maker and bagger run at capacity. You descale and sanitize the ice maker, replace worn components in the bagger, and leave the work area spotless.

By midday, you’re completing an ISB installation at a new customer site, then heading to a Reddy Ice plant or distribution center—or even a refurbishment center—to support additional projects. Along the way, you apply lean thinking: capture facts, use A3 problem solving, and note opportunities for the next Kaizen or value‑stream mapping session. You keep our True North principles top of mind—voice of the customer, respect for individuals, direct and fact‑based communication, and servant leadership.

In the afternoon, you connect with store staff to plan for rush periods, update the Field Equipment Service Manager with SOP improvement ideas, and jump on a brief video huddle with peers to share maintenance best practices. You drive safely, wear your uniform, meet designated start times, and follow our Policies, Programs & Procedures—reporting any incidents immediately. You finish the day by organizing your vehicle inventory and flagging any replenishment needs.

    What you’ll do

    • Keep ISB systems producing to demand; ensure uptime and output meet customer needs.
    • Respond to service calls to troubleshoot and repair ISBs, including ice makers and baggers.
    • Install, replace, and remove ISB equipment at customer locations.
    • Perform preventive maintenance: descale/sanitize ice makers, inspect/replace bagger wear parts, and maintain overall cleanliness.
    • Read and apply blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Work across retail locations, Reddy Ice plants and DCs, and refurbishment centers.
    • Attend company‑sponsored trainings; continuously expand trade skills.
    • Maintain vehicle, tools, and onboard inventory; request supplies proactively.
    • Communicate with store personnel to maximize production and plan for peak demand; deliver outstanding customer service.
    • Share SOP improvement ideas with the Field Equipment Service Manager; participate in peer discussions via video/phone and other tools.
    • Exhibit professionalism: safe driving, uniform compliance, punctuality, incident reporting, and strict safety adherence per the Policies, Programs & Procedures Manual.
    • Collaborate as a team player and support other duties as needed.
    • Embody our Code of Business Ethics—honesty, integrity, and the highest ethical standards.
    • Model and promote personal safety—safety is personal for us all.
