Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Field Representative through 04/15/2026at 11:59 p.m. (CST)located at Tioga, ND.


The Field Representative on the New Wells & Commissioning Team is responsible for safely preparing, commissioning, and starting up new wells and facilities. This includes facility handover, nitrogen purging, facility commissioning with production fluids, POP (put‑on‑production) operations, flowback management, and early-life facility operation. The position ensures all startup activities align with company safety standards, engineering requirements, and regulatory obligations.


9/80 schedule preferred, with potential for a 7/7 depending on qualifications. Field 75%, office 25%.


Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


Facility Handover


+ Verify construction and pre-commissioning activity completion, and ensure turnover documentation is accurate and complete.

+ Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs). Documents & work with construction & pre-commissioning to correct deficiencies prior to energizing systems.

+ Safely prepare facilities for startup, including isolations, equipment readiness checks, and system line-ups.


Facility Commissioning


+ Perform nitrogen purging on facility vessels, tanks, and piping to remove oxygen according to company procedures.

+ Fill facility with production fluids prior to POP to validate system readiness by function testing facility equipment, performing thorough leak checks, and verifying communication of meters & instrumentation.

+ Document commissioning results, deficiencies, and corrective actions.


POP (Put on Production) & Flowback Management


+ Execute POP procedures to safely bring new wells online.

+ Manage flowback operations, including MIRU coordination, equipment staging, daily crew supervision, and collaboration with ALM engineering on choke adjustments and sand management.

+ Responsible for daily reporting and communications – Wellview, SPS, flowback reports, etc.


Facility Operation During Startup


+ Safely operate facility equipment during initial production stages, with focus on maximizing cash flow through improving site availability and reducing cost.

+ Troubleshoot mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and electrical issues.

+ Collect and document equipment failure information to support after-action reviews and continuous improvement efforts.


Safety & Continuous Improvement


+ Follow all company safety procedures, permit-to-work processes, and regulatory requirements.

+ Participate in JSAs, PSSRs, LOTO, work permitting, and incident response.

+ Perform and document Start Work Checks prior to tasks to verify hazards, mitigations, equipment readiness, and safe work conditions.

+ Participate in after-action reviews to drive accountability of process improvement and equipment bad-actor resolution opportunities.


Required qualifications:


+ High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.

+ 5–10 years of experience in oil & gas operations, flowback, or production.

+ Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and remote locations.

+ Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

+ Frequent travel between field locations.

+ Extended hours may be required during startup campaigns.


Preferred qualifications:


+ History of managing vendor on-site safety, delivery, and cost performance.

+ Strong understanding of upstream process equipment and production systems.

+ Experience with nitrogen purging, facility commissioning, POP operations, and flowback management is a plus.

+ Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical and operational issues.

+ Strong safety awareness and familiarity with regulatory compliance.
