As a Field Roof Inspector, you’ll conduct residential property inspections on behalf of insurance carriers, documenting roof and property conditions through detailed photos, measurements, and reports.
This role is ideal for experienced roofing or property professionals who enjoy working independently, using technology in the field, and providing accurate documentation that helps support the claims process.
As an independent contractor, you’ll have the flexibility to work within your available territory while being part of Hancock’s nationwide inspection network.
Please note: This is an Independent Contractor position.
Conduct residential property and roof inspections, including steep and high-roof assessments.
Document property conditions, damage, and potential hazards through detailed photos, measurements, and inspection reports.
Evaluate exterior and interior areas of the property as required by the assignment.
Use mobile technology and inspection tools to capture accurate field data.
Identify and document conditions that may require temporary measures to help prevent further property damage.
Complete assignments accurately and within required timeframes.
Follow inspection guidelines, safety procedures, and carrier-specific requirements.
Communicate professionally with homeowners, insurance representatives, and other parties as needed.

Qualifications
Successful Technicians Possess:
Ability to safely navigate and inspect a variety of roofs, including steep and high roofs
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when documenting property conditions
Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with insureds
Empathy and strong communication skills when working with homeowners
Self-motivated and dependable with an entrepreneurial mindset
Roofing, construction, property inspection, or insurance claims experience is a plus, but not required
Requirements:
Must have a reliable Truck, Van or SUV with the ability to transport and carry a 32’ ladder
LiDAR-enabled device or ability to obtain one (e.g., iPad Pro or iPhone 12 Pro or newer)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Teams
Ability to obtain any required certifications or credentials to join and remain in our contractor network
HAAG Certification is a plus, but not required
