Job Title: Field Service Designer/Engineer
Location: Long Beach, CA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Pay range: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour on W2

Job Description:
  • This role will be primarily a field assignment located at an industrial site in Long Beach, CA.
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong background in industrial facility design and layout, offering the ability to accurately interpret P&IDs in relation to physical field conditions, identify and locate equipment, and tag equipment for incorporation into the client’s asset database.
  • The successful candidate will have an understanding of and experience in mechanical and piping design, P&IDs and familiarity with industrial process equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive P&ID walkdowns to verify physical field installations relative to the drawings.
  • Navigate industrial process units safely and efficiently while adhering to all site specific PPE and safety protocols.
  • Capture equipment nameplate data using photographs for incorporation into facilities asset database.
  • Physically tag equipment in accordance with asset management standards.
  • Travel to/from client sites.

Must have:
  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant industrial experience or AA/AS + 6 years of relevant industrial experience
  • High level of technical competency in the field of mechanical and/or piping engineering/design for petro-chemical facilities.
  • Prior experience working and performing walkdowns within a PSM-regulated environment with a strong understanding of refinery safety protocols (LOTO, H2S, and Hot Work).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of piping specifications and petro-chemical processing equipment.
  • Possession of a valid TWIC card or the ability to obtain one for port-adjacent industrial sites.
  • Current certification for Basic Orientation Plus (BOP) or equivalent site-specific safety training.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction/General Industry Safety Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Job Safety Analyses (JSA) or Daily Safety Observations in an active petro-chemical setting.
