In this hands‑on, high‑impact role, you'll lead on‑site installations, directing contractors as the Lead FSE, and serve as the primary technical point of contact for our customers. You'll play a critical role in delivering a seamless installation experience while maintaining safety, quality, and operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to think on your feet in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment. You'll ensure that our systems are installed correctly, functioning reliably, and meeting customer expectations.A day in the life and how you'll make an impact:Act as the on‑site lead during new system installations, directing third‑party contractors and ensuring high‑quality executionTroubleshoot hardware and software issues in real‑time, resolving challenges under pressurePerform routine and emergency maintenance services across client sitesEnsure full compliance with safety protocols and proactively identify potential risksReview site layouts using AutoCAD, ensuring feasibility and accuracyWrite clear and thorough technical documentation, including installation and service reportsServe as the face of UVeye in the field, providing excellent customer service and managing client expectations with professionalism and confidenceRequirements4+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or Field Technician in hardware/software installation and deploymentProven experience leading teams or contractors during technical installationsStrong hands‑on skills across civil works, networking, electrical wiring, and mechanical assembliesWorking knowledge of Linux‑based systems and basic networking principlesDemonstrated ability to write installation, service, and maintenance proceduresPrevious experience using AutoCAD or Autodesk to generate and interpret site layoutsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead discussions and provide direction clearlyCustomer‑first mindset and a high degree of resilience and adaptability under pressureStrong safety mindset and ability to enforce compliance at every stage of the jobWillingness to travel up to 90% across the USValid driver's licenseMust reside in Colorado.Ideally, we're looking for:Experience working in startup companies.Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience with CAD software.Experience in automotive industry.Additional scripting or troubleshooting knowledgePhysical Requirements:This role may involve on‑site or field‑based activities. Depending on the position, tasks may include extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking; working in and around vehicle service areas, rental facilities, dealerships, manufacturing sites, or warehouse environments; and performing occasional manual tasks such as lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs , bending, or reaching. The role may also require travel, working in varying environmental conditions, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, skills, location, education, and operational needs. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives or other forms of compensation or benefits. The annual base salary range for this position is $35/hr – $38/hr.Travel & ExpensesThis role requires frequent travel to customer sites. Employees are responsible for renting their own vehicle for work trips and must have a valid driver's license and rental eligibility.
