Field Service Engineer
Location: Lawrenceville, GA (Onsite with Travel)
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000+ (very negotiable for the right candidate)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a global leader in advanced production technologies, is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team in Lawrenceville, GA. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in automation, controls, and electrical/mechanical systems who enjoys solving problems, traveling, and working directly with clients.
The Field Service Engineer will install, troubleshoot, and maintain high-precision optical fiber production equipment across customer sites throughout North and South America, with occasional global assignments. This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with international engineering teams, and make a direct impact on customer success.
Key Responsibilities- Install, commission, and repair production machinery at client sites.
- Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support on automation, PLCs, drives, and control systems.
- Review schematics, electrical drawings, and manuals to resolve complex issues.
- Deliver both onsite and remote customer support.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and service teams in the U.S. and abroad.
- Document service activities and contribute to continuous improvement of support practices.
Qualifications- BSc/MSc in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent technical training).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with control systems, PLCs, HMIs, motors, and drives.
- Strong skills in machine installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware, Omron, and Yaskawa systems preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial fieldbuses and machine safety standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to travel frequently (including extended trips abroad).
- Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
